Opposition against the believer should not be viewed as a hindrance but the means necessary for progress. You see, hell will work its hardest against you when God is about to do heavens greatest work through you. So don't give up because of opposition, but keep your head up to see the Lord's salvation.
A self-made man may look successful, but success without Christ is actually failure. For what does it profit a man to gain all the wealth of the world but to be spiritually bankrupt without the Lord? It profits him nothing. In fact, it will eternally cost him everything!
The only safe and sure foundation for both life and death is God's free gift of grace. Yet there is nothing cheap about this free gift, as it was purchased with the life of Jesus Christ and can only be claimed when giving your life to Jesus Christ. And once you receive His graces over your life, He will not abandon His work of grace in your life.
In the eyes of Jesus, our guilt doesn't define us, His grace does. Because when we choose Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God the Father no longer sees us in the wretchedness of sin, but He sees us in the righteousness of His Son.
God will not take you out of your trouble until you allow Him to take the trouble out of you. It is priority for Him to deal first with the state of your character before He deals with the state of your circumstances.
