A DECLARATION OF DEPENDENCE

July 3, 2025

On July 4, 1776, fifty-six men signed more than a document—they signed their death warrant. They wrote: “...we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.” Many paid dearly: some were captured, tortured, lost sons, or had their homes burned. They didn’t hold back; they poured out their lives for the cause of freedom. If they gave everything for temporary liberty, how much more should we pour out our lives for the eternal cause of Christ? True freedom isn’t independence from God, it’s dependence on Him. “For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand" (2 Timothy 4:6).
