God will allow injury in order to accomplish intimacy. In other words, it's often through affliction that He teaches us so much about His affection. And yet, we add insult to that injury when we don't lean into His love through the trial or tragedy. "Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice" (Psalm 51:8).
