BE of GOOD CHEER

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). Jesus' promise of peace is the very reason we can "be of good cheer" when we are in the furnace of tribulation. Instead of thinking we are being burned up by the heat and destroyed by the pressure, we must know that we are being purged by the heat and refined by the present trial. Like the metal refining process, our adversities have a purifying purpose. "Be of good cheer" and know that Jesus has already overcome every trial.
