BEFORE PRIDE MONTH

Pride did not begin with a movement, a month, or a culture. It began when Lucifer sought the place of the Creator. Since then, pride has been at the root of every rebellion against God. Pride whispers, “My way is better.” Humility says, “Your way is best.” Pride elevates self; humility exalts the Savior. The battle has never been merely about behavior, it has always been about who sits on the throne of the heart. The good news is that where pride brought a fall, Christ provides grace. God does not give grace to the perfect; He gives grace to the humble who recognize their need for Him. “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6).
