In God's economy, guilt weighs exactly the same in the murderer as it does in the liar. Whether it's a public catastrophe or something done in secrecy, sin is sin is sin. Yet God is faithful when we are truthful. And if we confess from our heart, He forgives us from His heart. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (I John 1:9).
