Our thought life is an invisible power that eventually becomes visible in our behavior. And such influence is either destructive or productive, and the difference depends on what we place our mind upon. You can either meditate on whatever is true or you can be tethered to a lie. You can think upon whatever is excellent or you can be persuaded by what's a detriment, but you can't do both. Therefore, "whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things" (Philippians 4:8).
