God’s sovereignty never eliminates human responsibility. We pray because God is sovereign, and we participate in the public square because He has entrusted us with godly influence. Being salt and light means faithfully engaging every sphere where God has placed us, including the civic sphere. “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God” (Romans 13:1).
