the CAUSE of BITTERNESS

Ignorance of God’s goodness is the cause of all bitterness. In other words, when we truly grasp God's grace, the root of bitterness will have no grip on our lives. "See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled" (Hebrews 12:15).
