THE PURPOSE OF PRUNING

Sometimes God removes what we thought we needed so we can discover that He is all we need. Gideon watched his army shrink from 32,000 to 10,000 and eventually to 300, not because God was weakening him, but because God was preparing to reveal His strength. The gardener sees what the branch cannot see; every cut has a purpose. “Every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit” (John 15:2)
