We aren't always set free from suffering, but with Christ, we are always set free through suffering. How so? Well, God uses every trial as a refiner's fire that burns off the impurities of sin and make us more like His Son. "For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son" (Romans 8:29).
