WHEN SIN FLATTERS

A life without the fear of God doesn’t always feel rebellious, it often feels reasonable. Sin rarely condemns at first; it flatters, convincing the heart that evil is harmless and repentance is unnecessary. The danger is not only doing wrong, but losing the ability to hate it. Ask the Lord today for a tender conscience and a renewed fear of His holiness. “For he flatters himself in his own eyes, when he finds out his iniquity and when he hates” (Psalm 36:2).
