A PRAYER SOAKED BY TEARS

Oh Lord, that I may BLESS YOU indeed…I can pray words, but empty. I can pray chants, but ritual. I can pray songs, but selfish. So Lord, I pray tears, and flowing. I pray tears, and feeling. I pray tears, while knowing, that “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

When words, and chants, and songs will just not do, honor my prayers of tears Lord, which flow from my heart; listen to my prayers of tears Lord, which feel like a stream; answer my prayers of tears Lord, which I know they are seen.

Not one shall fall without Your Purpose, nor shall one drip without Your guidance and not one will dry up without Your allowance. These tears Lord, they are all I can pray, for no other words can I properly say. Accept these tears Lord, in place of my “why," for it is these tears Lord that only You can dry!

I pray tears Lord, and I know each one is kept. These tears Lord, for even Your Son Jesus wept! My humbled tears Lord, like rain dropped to the earth; Aren’t these tears Lord, meant for joy to be birthed? I pray tears Lord regardless of why, not backwards or forwards, but upwards I cry.

I give You my tears Lord, for I cast them to YOU; these tears Lord, by them make me new! I close out this prayer with tears Lord, no longer many but few; and because of You, O Lord, these tears have purpose too! Amen.
