Many are reacting to the recent exchange between Tucker Carlson and Ted Cruz, but the real issue isn’t politics, it’s perspective. More specifically, it’s a lack of biblical perspective. Despite their influence, both men reveal a limited grasp of Scripture. Tucker views everything through an America-first lens, opposing any foreign policy that doesn’t directly serve national interest; and that’s his conviction. Cruz, while rightly supporting Israel, struggles to articulate why that matters from a biblical worldview. And if we don’t begin with the full counsel of God’s Word, we’ll always arrive at the wrong conclusion…. or offer a sloppy presentation of the right one. Always.
This isn’t just about political Israel or national security. It’s about prophetic Israel and spiritual reality. Do not conflate the two.
Arguments that pit support for Israel as “warmongering” often echo the same language as replacement theology, which wrongly claims that God is done with Israel. But if we don’t start with God’s prophetic plan for Israel, we end up debating in circles, confusing temporary judgment with permanent rejection.
Yes, Israel is currently under divine discipline; what I often call “unredeemed Israel.” But the Bible is clear: God will save a remnant through the coming Time of Jacob’s Trouble (Jeremiah 30:7; Romans 11:25–27).
And let’s be clear, we do not need to go to war. But that must not be confused with silence or neutrality in the face of evil. Iran’s current regime—ruled by the Supreme Leader—is wicked to its core. It remains the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, empowering violent proxies like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis to wage chaos and target Israel. However, the Persian people themselves are a beautiful people who have suffered under this tyrannical rule since 1979. Christians must discern between evil rulers and oppressed populations.
To support Israel does not mean endorsing every political decision they make. It means aligning with the God of Israel and His redemptive plan through her. Full stop.
Much of the current backlash comes from recycled conspiracies about Zionism, the Scofield Bible, and Jewish control of the world. These lies are old, tired, debunked and demonic, and have been refuted by sound biblical scholarship and nearly 1800 years of Church history that affirmed God’s continuing plan for Israel, long before Scofield existed.
And the idea that Jews somehow “manipulated” the world to give them back their land on May 14, 1948, is not only absurd, but it also ignores the divine fingerprints all over that moment in history. Only God could resurrect a dead language, restore a dispersed people, and fulfill what He prophesied in Ezekiel 36-37: bringing His covenant people back to their land.
From beginning to end, the Bible affirms God’s irrevocable covenant with Israel:
Old Testament Promises
Israel is God’s prophetic timepiece: her past chosen, her present scattered, her future restored in glory.
New Testament Affirmations
We do not support Israel blindly; we support the God of Israel and His unfolding prophetic plan. “For I am the LORD, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob” (Malachi 3:6). When people argue against Israel’s significance in the last days without quoting Scripture, they reveal the true problem, they are not interpreting events through the lens of God’s Word, but through man’s politics and speculation.
Don’t be fooled by talking heads. Stick to God’s unchanging Word. “God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew” (Romans 11:2).
