Truth Under Fire: The War You Can’t See

Two years ago, on October 7, a terroristic and murderous act unleashed a wave of evil the world cannot afford to forget. Hamas’s barbaric assault on Israeli civilians wasn’t “resistance," it was terrorism, plain and simple.

Israel’s response, though fierce, has been a just defense under the authority of God’s Word. “For he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil” (Romans 13:4). Romans 13 reminds us that the governing sword is not borne in vain, but it exists to punish evil and preserve order.

For two years, Israel hasn’t fought a war—it has fought many: on the ground, in the air, and in the arena of ideas. The narrative war has proven the most deceptive of all: a psychological operation twisting perception until victims appear as villains and terrorists as freedom fighters (Isaiah 5:20).

There are casualties to war, and every innocent life lost (especially among women and children) is heartbreaking. Compassion, however, must not cancel clarity. Facts must outweigh feelings. This is not genocide; to call it so is to echo propaganda that perpetuates pain.

Hamas is harnessed by hell, and the only thing that should be freed in “Free Palestine” are the Palestinians themselves from Hamas. “Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all” (Proverbs 28:5).

Ignorance can be innocent, but learned ignorance, the kind reinforced by willful blindness and echo-chambers, is the most destructive kind. That’s the true front line of this conflict: a battle for hearts and minds, where truth itself is under siege. “We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of the darkness of this age” (Ephesians 6:12).

And through it all, may the Lord bring true peace to the land and to the lives torn by this conflict, a peace not born of politics, but of righteousness. For only when truth prevails can peace endure. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you" (Psalm 122:6).
