You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
The same voice that thunders over the waters in Psalm 29 is the voice that rules over kings and nations. Storms obey Him, forests bow before Him, and thrones rise and fall at His command. As Daniel told Belshazzar, “The God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways” (Daniel 5:23), nations may plot and rulers may plan, but “The counsel of the Lord stands forever” (Psalm 33:11).
"God is too good to be unkind and He is too wise to be mistaken. And when we cannot trace His hand, we must trust His heart." (Charles Spurgeon)
Calling sin an opinion doesn't stop sin from being poison. And that is why softening what the Bible says so as not to offend, isn't loving, it's lying. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).
Hell has many ways. Heaven but one. Thus, know Christ, no death. Or, no Christ, know death. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).
Those who are obedient to truth are never compliant to lies. You see, real eyes realize real lies; and as a result, disciples of Christ do not blindly comply. "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth..." (John 16:13).
Now to Him who is able to preserve you on earth from falling and present you in heaven without fault. "To God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen" (Jude 25).
He who walks with integrity walks securely. In other words, you do not need to worry about outcomes when you trust the Lord for all that comes out. "He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known" (Proverbs 10:9).
Evil rarely shows up all at once, it slides in slowly. It often begins with a small compromise, a quiet exception to God’s clear standard. What once was called sin gets renamed as struggle. What God defined as holy becomes “open to interpretation.” Over time, the truth isn’t just bent, it’s flipped. Eventually, the culture...
No. It’s not Throwback Thursday-- but I found another blog that I wrote a few years ago from prison that was never used and I thought it was worth the read. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Man, in his physical state, was not created to be locked up. A human should only spend 9 months at the most in captivity, but even then, we are spiritually dead when we are born into this world—due to sin. If we are automatically born into bondage, shouldn’t we then be used to confinement? Not really, because pride.....
Sometimes you just have to pray through your nightmare because sometimes, just sometimes, our dreams are swallowed by a pit, a prison, or a pain. I immediately think of Joseph in the Bible. In so many verses it says that “the Lord was with Joseph and he prospered.” Mind you, he was a slave and the Lord’s hand was still with him mightily and obviously. BUT here’s the point: God’s only with a man or woman who is committed to being with God. Again, the Bible confirms, “the LORD is with you.....
The blog heard ‘round the world. No seriously, why can’t I think this way? I mean, why shouldn’t I believe what Jesus Himself has said, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12). Jesus gives us the authority to believe...
I wrote the piece below when I was inmate #314525E. You see, many people view my life now from the vantage point of, “Isn’t he lucky that so many things have worked out for him.” And so, I want to remind you where this piece was penned—in a dark place, often surrounded by lots of shady people and in the vice-grip of a system that is bent on squeezing the worst out of you. And yet because I understood WHO my God was/is---I NEVER lost hope and determined to deal hope to all those who the Lord placed around me---within prison and now outside of prison. So…as you read this piece, ponder the question of whether you are a dealer or a stealer?
