Brokenness is often the doorway to closeness with God. When our pride cracks and our self-reliance gives way, we become more aware of His nearness, almost as if the veil between heaven and earth thins. God is not drawn to polished strength, but to humble hearts that know their need. In surrender, distance disappears and intimacy grows. “The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit” (Psalm 34:18).
