You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
When you are falsely accused or surrounded by opposition, the Word reminds us that God invites His people to bring their case to Him rather than retaliate in the flesh. It may feel right to defend our reputation, but we don’t have to when God Himself is our Advocate. “Plead my cause, O LORD, with those who strive with me; fight against those who fight against me” (Psalm 35:1).
An ounce of hope in the Lord weighs more than a ton of hype in the world. You see, hope always runs deep while hype always runs out. Therefore, it is only hope in Christ that will last even beyond this life. "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13).
You can pout your way through your day or you can praise & pray your way through your day, but you can't do both. To rejoice is a choice! "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (I Thessalonians 5:16-18).
Faith that is kept private is a faith that is kept quiet. Conversely, faith that grows diligently in private will be faith that shows vibrantly in public. "The apostles said to the Lord, 'Increase our faith!'” (Luke 17:5)
Where we set our mind will determine what we do with our time. "Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth" (Col. 3:2).
The world is not going to come to Church to find Jesus. And that's why the Church needs to go to the world with Jesus. You see, salt is only effective when it engages with that which it intends to influence. “You are the salt of the earth." --Jesus
Following God's will may not be the easiest, but it is always the best for us. God's will is for His glory and our good; And "our good" doesn't mean we will be happy, healthy, or wealthy, but rather we would be holy. Again, God's will for us...
In the days following Charlie Kirk’s murder, something unexpected happened and the world witnessed it: people returned to church, conversations turned to repentance, and Christ was openly exalted. But whenever God begins to move, the enemy seeks to interrupt the work with confusion and accusation. Jesus told us plainly that Satan is “the father...
I’m not actually sure where this month has gone, wow! Thanksgiving 2009 seems like it was just yesterday. It was my last Thanksgiving as a free man for at least the next 5 years. And I can recall wishing that the time would slow down, as January 7, 2010, my sentencing day, was quickly approaching. If we fast-forward to now, Thanksgiving 2011, you would think I....
I am on the road for the next few days with speaking engagements, so I don’t have the time to write a blog. However, I decided to post a blog which I wrote four months after being incarcerated in 2010. It’s interesting to see the purpose that burned in my heart being fulfilled today (THY WILL BE DONE--May 25, 2010): I received a letter the other day that really.....
TERROR STRIKES AGAIN! This headline is all too familiar in our world today, where “high alerts”, terrorist attacks, or mass murders seem, sadly, eerily, too regular. Yet no matter how frequent these terrors have become, we still have a hard time accepting such atrocities. The generations below me don’t know a world without this type of carnage and their responses either numbs them to violence or “dumbs them” to ignorance. Please allow this tweet to explain what I mean when I say “dumbs them”: “Please don’t pray for Paris. Think for Paris. Love for Paris. Laugh for Paris. Have sex for Paris. We’ve had enough religion for one night.” Based on that comment alone, it is clear how terror and evil produces......
I’m talking to the complacent Christian: The pew warmer. The Bible studier, but not doer. Listening not applying. I’m calling out the Christian that “knows” they’re going to heaven from earth, yet have no idea what it’s like to have heaven on earth. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: complacency is no place to be. I know, because I’ve been there. I’ve been an idle Christian, which is no different than worshiping an idol disguised by religion. Complacent Christian, who would want the salvation and joy you say you have when there’s no proof that you have what you say you have? Who cares you go to church and an occasional Bible study? Both activities don’t make you Christ --when you leave both....
