You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Before the cross, there was a deal made in the dark. Judas didn’t fall in a moment, he drifted over time until proximity to Jesus meant nothing. You can be close to Christ and still compromise if your heart isn’t surrendered. Guard your devotion, because what you treasure will determine what you trade. “What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” (Matthew 26:15)
If truth be told, the only way to not be conformed to the world and its pull, is to daily allow the Word of God to transform the soul. You see, because of the inherent sin in our skin, we are inclined to be worldly. However, because of the...
Faith isn't about personal happiness, but rather glorifying God no matter what happens to us. You see, real faith honors God and God honors real faith.
You may still be in a storm, but the moment you learn to "be still" in the storm and know that God is in control, is the very moment the storm no longer controls you and His peace can enter your soul. "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10).
Religion can never bring us to God and that's why God brought Himself to us. He desires relationship over religion.
There is no freedom in freedom itself. Freedom is only found in Jesus Himself. In other words, we can "declare independence" on a calendar, but true liberty begins with dependence upon a Savior. "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36).
As much as we may think so, we don't need a better set of circumstances. Truthfully, we just need to set our eyes on Jesus. Because to see Him is to know you need nothing but Him. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1).
What we are witnessing in these protests and walkouts is not random unrest, but the fruit of decades of moral decay left untreated. When a nation rejects God’s order long enough, disorder does not merely grow, it metastasizes. Not because rightly ordered authority causes rebellion, but because rebellion...
The everyday pressures I face, when compared to my former pressures, is the difference between a hurricane and a light rain. An umbrella adequately covers one; but there are limited safety precautions for the other. Prison pressure was a hurricane, making life’s current pressure nothing but a light rain. I was in an earthly form of hell for over 4 and 1/2 years, yet I emerged....
In honor of my mother’s newly released book “SLAMMED,” and it’s emphasis on faith in God in the midst of a storm, I would like to share an abbreviated version of the words spoken at my brother John’s funeral -- nine years ago-- on behalf of my mother by her friend. (It’s worth the longer read!)-------- An amazing thing happened three decades ago in Bayside Village. There in the spring of 1978, John and Cherri Olsen—that’s my husband and me and our baby son John moved into the barn-style house at 110 Oakdale Ave. directly across the street from the barn-style house at 109 Oakdale Ave, where John and Andrea Maher lived with their baby son, John. And I noticed right away that their house was......
I must say --with all humility-- that I do not care who follows me on social media. I obviously take these platforms seriously based on the content of my posts and pictures; and I hope whoever is following me feels as if I am leading them somewhere worthwhile. It is truly my intent to instigate integrity, inspire initiative, and infuse insight through these vehicles. And I get it, everyone wants as many followers as possible when it comes to these channels -- more followers equals more popularity…I guess. I am not trying to lose followers, and my desire is not to gain followers.....
Yesterday was exactly 5 years since my sentencing day. The day I was physically incarcerated, but spiritually liberated (I-VII-X). And much has happened in this time-span. Much has grown. Much has died. Much has multiplied. You see, I could not visualize where I’d be weeks, months, or years from that fateful day that I was sentenced away. I could only see the moments before me and the opportunities around me. Both presented decisions to be made--Maximize the situation or criticize my life’s condition? I think....
