You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
The Gospel doesn’t just make bad people behave. It makes dead people live. This isn’t a self-help message, it’s a resurrection miracle. Christ didn’t come to improve us; He came to indwell us. “Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ…” (Ephesians 2:5).
The greatest gift ever given was when God wrapped Himself in flesh and then unwrapped Himself in death. This present was not placed under a tree, but it was placed on a tree for the world to see. And to receive this present is to receive His presence.
God does not turn His back on the broken because they are wounded. Contrary however, God turns His heart toward the broken and binds up their wounds.
True character isn’t easy to see in prosperity, but it becomes well known in adversity.
Love never leaves a heart in the same condition it found it. Love touches the untouchable, and when wronged, doesn't count it. Love never fails, even through failure. And love is only love when it is discovered in Jesus the Savior.
Jesus went to the cross, not only to die for our endless disgraces, but to unleash His endless grace. And God’s grace isn’t a license to sin. No way! But God’s grace actually gives us full access to Him.
When we commit to draw near to God, He commits to drawing nearer to us. And with this nearness, the Lord begins to draw His image within us by using our heart as a canvas.
Comparative Analysis: Christianity vs. Islam Revelation and Textual Integrity: The Bible vs. The Quran • Muhammad claimed to have received revelations from the angel Gabriel for about 23 years, starting in 609 AD. The result was a sea of contradictions...
The more we focus on the confusion and corruption of the world around us, the more such corrosion begins to live within us. So many people are looking for answers—“What’s the solution to the worlds injustice, violence, and ignorance?”—while missing the sad reality that all of what is occurring around the world is the direct result of a godless society. I said it before and I’ll say it again, bigotry of ANY...
I have not claimed to know what I am doing since day one of this unpredictable journey and I don’t plan on trying to figure things out now. Sarah and I have been in awe of God’s wonderful plan for our lives and we both know that when we desire His plan, we are settling for the absolute best plan. We just want to be obedient with what God has entrusted to us and with where He is leading us. I often pray subconsciously, “What next Lord?” Where next Lord?” And though I am excited for when He shows me....
Lately I have been rereading my mom’s book, SLAMMED: Overcoming Tragedy in the Wave of Grief, and the experience has led to grief-filled tears mingled with grateful memories. Traveling backward in time is impossible, except by thought alone. For people of faith, those periods of reflection can be a comfort as we see how our past events—the good and the bad—were all part of God’s purpose and plan. For my parents, that even meant the loss of a son. Something about that event struck me hard as I read.....
So much bad news in this world, yet so many still reject the Good News of Jesus. From the parlor tricks of politics to the mass murders sponsored by ISIS, when will this world see who Christ is? So many people say they’ll pray for those afflicted by tragedy, but that sympathy can be summed up by one recent interviewers theology. A news reporter asked him this question....
