It’s easy to become so focused on what God might do next that we overlook what He has placed before us today. Faithfulness begins with the next act of obedience, the person who needs our care, and the truth we already know to live. Trust Him with tomorrow, and be faithful with today. “This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).
Every problem we encounter in life can be answered with the simplicity of addition and subtraction = That Jesus must increase and self must decrease.
If God has allowed it, know that good will come out of it. Because there is never a majestic mountain without a deep valley, and there is no birth without pain. Therefore, trust that good will come in time, because God is good all the time.

When you have Jesus Christ in your heart, it is possible to live in the land of affliction and not become a prisoner of it. Because where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty in spite of adversity. "Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty" (II Corinthians 3:17).
We cannot pay our own debt on sin nor can we perform our way into heaven. The truth to be told, the devil has a lien on our life until we allow Jesus to pay our debt owed. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus.
Gods mercies are new today so you can leave your mistakes in your yesterday. In others words, God is so serious about new beginnings that He hardwired the necessity of sleep into us--night by night--so as to wake us up to His new mercies upon us--day by day.
I haven’t stopped thinking about a question that came in during the final minutes of Wednesday night’s question-and-answer service. I recognize that many people have sincere and important questions surrounding this subject, so I wanted to reply with a more organized answer. Someone asked, “Why doesn’t Landmark Church have a deliverance ministry?”
There are so many times in this post-prison journey where I am in utter awe of God and how He works out His perfectly designed plan for our lives—often in spite of us. So for more than a year now, I find myself in numerous settings thinking ‘Only God!’ Today is another one of those days, as I am writing this from the beautiful town of Lancaster, Pennsylvania (and writing hastily I might add)! Here I sit on my comfortable couch with a 55-inch flat screen tv in front of me and my state of the art MacBook on top of me. I just controlled the lighting to my liking and before I go any further—please excuse me—I’m going to grab a quick drink and snack from the fridge…Okay, I’m back now, still comfortable, but at a loss for words to type. And I’m humbly reminded how this is the complete opposite of how I used to write while in prison. Yet I never had an ounce of trouble writing a full page of deep thoughts graciously surrounded by peace in the midst of so much chaos and so little comfort. Back then, I typed on an antiquated....

His name is Little John.” ✝ I say that jokingly in assemblies sometimes, and it certainly gets the audience laughing; because at this point in the presentation, they have already heard me share a story about Little John and I, which involves some prison drama and a tense showdown with some gang members. Of course I couple the story with his picture to drive the oxymoron home about Little John--not being so little......
Our performance doesn’t enhance or reduce God’s faithfulness. And with that opening sentence, it is my utmost privilege to report that God is still in the salvaging business despite our idea behind our own personal usefulness. Sarah and I recently participated in a youth event in Pennsylvania where I was the keynote speaker of the night. I’ve done this particular “presentation” before, which requires PowerPoint slides and embedded video; for it is the most structured way to tell my story without getting caught up in certain areas and timelines.
