You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
God never calls us to reshape His truth to fit our preferences; He calls us to reshape our lives to fit His truth. A heart committed to truth welcomes correction, while a heart committed to self will always find a way to justify itself. Ask God for the humility to love what is true, even when it challenges you. "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise" (Proverbs 12:15).
When God forgives, God restores. He doesn't just separate us from our sin, but He also completes our lives in His Son. You see, the believer not only receives forgiveness, but they also receive God's righteousness.
To have impact for Jesus, you have to have intimacy with Jesus. For it is only when we have daily interaction with Him that our lives will begin to have a Christ-like impression on others. Again, you have to know Him to share Him.
Attending church on Sunday may be about lifting Jesus up. But being the church every other day should be about living Jesus out. You see, the world needs to witness the love of Jesus from the pulpit of our lives in order for them to want Jesus to come into their own lives. In other words, if you talk it, be the first to walk it so the world can see it.
What the Lord requires of us is to do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with Him. To do justly is to live by integrity regardless of the consequences. To love mercy is to see others the way Jesus views them. And to walk humbly is to be poised by gentleness and powered by God's faithfulness. These are the Christian's requirements, not out of responsibility, but purely out of response to Calvary.
We pursue what we value. As does God. And since He pursued us by going to the cross and still pursues us with His grace, then what does that say about our value?
O Lord, Your forgiveness has set me free. Your amazing grace has made my heart a bended knee. And I thank you for Your relentless love that pursues me, for it changes me and altogether soothes me. You are a gracious God and a merciful Master, in Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
What we are watching as so many people reject layer after layer of evidence in the Charlie Kirk murder case is not merely a failure of reason or the physical senses. We are witnessing the material consequence of spiritual deception. Scripture calls it a strong delusion. In 2 Thessalonians 2:10–12, Paul warns of those who “did not receive the...
I believe my spiritual alignment and character development has been because of the child-rearing, faithful appeals, and the fervent prayers to God which came from the heart of my beloved mother. She has prayed for my life to be used for God’s glory, but this wasn’t a responsive prayer to my tragedy, this was actually a progressive prayer from my youth. She prayed in this diligent manner over all of her children--for our futures and families--to be men of character, conviction, and community. Her prayers went up and I see...
The easy route is rarely the right route. And that’s why we say, “they took the easy way out” in reference to someone that bailed out. The book of Proverbs says it like this, “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small” (24:10). Basically, when we bail out, we are only showing our true character out. God allows adversity to befall us, not to belittle us, but to benefit us......
I was sitting out on my front yard recently watching the traffic of people walk the boards. With the beautiful beach only 30 yards in front of me, I thanked God for where HE currently had me. You see, my front yard is the boardwalk and the beach is my horizon; yet would you believe me if I told you that my current latitude and longitude has nothing to do with my heart of gratitude? I mean, of course I am appreciative of my present position, but the outward view has nothing to do with....
Flashback: I was laying on my back in the prison yard on top of a steel, bolted down, picnic table. My arms were outstretched, like a cross, and I was meditating on the passage of Scripture that God placed into my soul this AM. “Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10). ‘Be Still and Know’ I kept uttering in my mind, over and over again. And the more I dwelled....
