You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
We often ask God to show us the whole path when He has already shown us the next step. Obedience begins with what He has made clear today: tell the truth, extend grace, make the call, or leave behind what is pulling you away from Him. Take that step and trust Him to guide the ones that follow. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Psalm 119:105).
If I speak and they don't hear Jesus, then I'm better off speechless. If I'm watched and they don't see authentic confidence, then I'm better off staying anonymous. If I'm given a platform and I don't magnify God's glory, then I'm better off not even telling my story. HE > i
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "To be comfortable with the temporary world around you is to be complacent to the eternal world above you. And without conviction for Christ's commission, can you really call yourself a Christian?"
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Only those who are truly aware of the ugliness of their sin against God can be truly aware of the beauty of Gods grace toward them.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Therefore, submit to God" (James 4:7). If we are not constantly submitting to God, then we are likely drifting from Him. If you don't feel as close to God as you used to, the question is, "who moved?"
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: Jesus not only knew everything intellectually, but He was also willing to show what He knew passionately. You see, a head full of knowledge means nothing without a heart full of compassion. We must be willing to feel the pain in the people around us in order to show them the reason for our hope and healing within us. And the closer we get to Jesus, the more compassion we will have for people.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth" (Colossians 3:2). If we are always watching other people and worrying about what they are doing with their lives, then we will miss what God is trying to do in our lives. He stays speaking to us and that is why we have to stay looking to Him.
I haven’t stopped thinking about a question that came in during the final minutes of Wednesday night’s question-and-answer service. I recognize that many people have sincere and important questions surrounding this subject, so I wanted to reply with a more organized answer. Someone asked, “Why doesn’t Landmark Church have a deliverance ministry?”
It is true that whatever the heart lays hold of in the morning will often hold the heart in the evening, and that is why I want my heart to lay hold of the Lord each and every day. I want the impression of my heart, before my day really gets going, to be pressed into the Lord's plan for my day. David wrote in Psalm 63, “O God, You are my God. Early will I seek You.” And this idea of “early” not only means....
I played the fence most of my young life, but that divided stance left me torn. And now, I refuse to feel torn in any regard and for any reason. Relationships. Faith. Emotions. Devotions. I’m all in or I’m all out. Sitting on the fence position and trying to figure out if the grass is greener on one side over the other is considered a lack of trust in where the Shepherd leads. I say it like this...
The pattern of pain can teach us much. You see, pain comes with a paragon, and if followed closely, pain leads to passion to be used for greater purpose. Conversely, when we stray away from pain, we find ourselves closer to shame. And when in shame, we shut down or lash out. Shutting down leads to depression and lashing out leads to guilt projection. Not the purpose of....
When I think about my upbringing in a strong Christian household, I realize how I’ve always had real faith modeled for me, but I just didn't allow real faith to live within me. What I mean is this: I just wasn’t exercising my faith like the muscle that it is, with the reality that it brings. And when you don’t exercise a muscle properly, the....
