The heart that is set upon the joy of heaven cannot be beset by the sorrow of earth. Because no matter what you are going through in this season, as difficult as it may seem, never forget the promise that was manifested in the birth of Immanuel. "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel" (Isaiah 7:14).

Regardless of what presents are waiting under the tree for you, the One who hung on a tree is waiting for you. You see, all of the Christmas presents in the world cannot compare to the presence of Christ. Receive the gift of God by believing in the Son of God. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

In the Son of God coming to earth, God wrapped Himself in flesh and then unwrapped Himself in death. You see, He is the present that opens up heaven; and in Him alone, heaven's presence opens up to us. ~ Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God..." (John 4:10) ~
