You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
When we lose our desperation for the Lord, we lose our dependence, because self-sufficiency always replaces surrender. Desperation isn’t a sign of weakness; it’s the birthplace of deeper trust. David cried out, not because God couldn’t hear, but because his soul couldn’t...
God's faithfulness is covenantal, not contractual. In other words, let us be thankful that He is faithful in and of Himself, and that His faithfulness is not dependent upon us. "If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself" (2 Timothy 2:13).
Whatever is under God's control is never out of control. Thus, we'd do well to align our will with God's will! "Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness" (Psalm 143:10).
It's not just about not going to hell, but the ONE who saved you from hell. And it's not just about going to heaven, but the ONE who makes it heaven. It's about wanting more of Jesus now and having all of Jesus forever. "Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever" (Psalm 73:25-26).
Discernment is when our "eye sight" lines up with our insight. And such clarity comes only through the Word. To know the Word is to have the right eyes to see the world. "Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law" (Psalm 119:18).
When truth dies, lies thrive. And when lies thrive, people die. But faint not, because truth will eventually rise and reign in the righteous rule of Jesus Christ. So let us keep standing on His truth regardless of how far society strays from His truth. "So you shall say to them, ‘This is a nation that does not obey the voice of the Lord their God nor receive correction. Truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth" (Jeremiah 7:28).
A civilization that kills its own will eventually kill itself. "O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name" (Daniel 9:19).
Comparative Analysis: Christianity vs. Islam Revelation and Textual Integrity: The Bible vs. The Quran • Muhammad claimed to have received revelations from the angel Gabriel for about 23 years, starting in 609 AD. The result was a sea of contradictions...
Oh Lord, I do not know why You have found favor with me, nor can I ever explain properly how gracious and merciful You have been with my life, for there are no words that could express such magnitude, such greatness, such splendor. Your NAME alone is worthy to be praised and adored. With no solitary act behind it and just three letters on a piece of paper, G-O-D, is worth more than life itself. Your NAME holds more weight than this world and at the sound of your NAME alone, the hearts of mankind shatter and nations crumble. But You declare more than just....
Jesus said, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first” (John 8:7). And the only one who was sinless to throw, was the only one who wanted ALL sinners to know. Jesus wanted everyone down the ages to know that it is much better to be a stone than to throw a stone. You see, anyone can pick up a stone to judge, but what if we learned to pick up the characteristics of a stone to love? How so? Well, if “IMAYB a Stone,” than I cannot afford to throw....
We are officially home from our vacation time, but I have to admit that I have not left behind my “vacation mind.” What’s a vacation mind? It’s a state of mind that unwinds so that the peace of God may enter in. It’s a mind that rewinds to reflect and keeps God at the center. It’s a mind that finds its vacation in Christ without needing to escape from the everyday responsibilities of life. You see, this vacation didn’t help me get away, it actually reminded me to stay close. The time I spent in the Sunshine State reminded me of the shine that can only be found when you take time to “lay out” in the present state of....
It's true, you never really know what you've got until it's gone. But also, in some situations, it takes being gone to realize what you've got. Being back in Florida with my family for the first time in 6 years has taught me a humbling lesson about the void that I left my parents with since I've been gone. Other family members, who are here with us now, (and were here in years past) have told me privately how both my mother and my father have a different type of vacation relief this time around. You see, it's as if--for the past 5 Florida trips--they've left behind a "peace" of luggage that was locked up and....
