You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
The Gospel doesn’t just make bad people behave. It makes dead people live. This isn’t a self-help message, it’s a resurrection miracle. Christ didn’t come to improve us; He came to indwell us. “Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ…” (Ephesians 2:5).
"The cause of God is never in danger: infernal craft is outwitted by infinite wisdom, and Satanic malice held in check by boundless power" (Charles Spurgeon). Translation, God wins! "The Lord catches the wise in their own craftiness, and the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them" (Job 5:13).
The stature of God stands behind the person (or people) who abide by the statutes of God. You see, the Lord is looking for a loyal heart to stand behind and set apart. "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him" (2 Chronicles 16:9).
Having a certain faith in the midst of uncertain days always trusts in God's certain ways. In other words, you don't need to know it all when you know the One who holds it all. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1).
It is incompatible to know that God bought you, while still living as if sin owns you. Mind you, in Christ, "you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (I Corinthians 6:20).
The only way the decree of death can be avoided is if the decree of life null and voids it. In other words, the wages of sin is death and ALL are under such a decree. However, the Son paid the price with His life and it's this decree that sets one free. (See Romans 6:23 and Colossians 2:13-14)
A throne established in righteousness is not about "right or left" but right or wrong. You see, a nation will rise or fall based on whether or not it follows God's law. "Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne will be established in righteousness" (Proverbs 25:5).
Comparative Analysis: Christianity vs. Islam Revelation and Textual Integrity: The Bible vs. The Quran • Muhammad claimed to have received revelations from the angel Gabriel for about 23 years, starting in 609 AD. The result was a sea of contradictions...
My sentencing day January 7th, 2010, came fast. Each day leading up to it was like the rushing sands in an hour glass pouring non-stop reminders that soon it would be empty and reckoning day was near; time flew by from Thanksgiving spilling right into Christmas. The holidays, with all their promise of hope and glad tidings, seemed mechanical and surreal. I felt detached; indifferent. The warm and fuzzy reminders of past family gatherings only added to the strain of going through the motions, putting on a face of hope, when all real enchantment was gone. In addition, this time of the year always brought to our remembrance the life of my brother who passed away....
The following was written to my parents three weeks after my accident on April 1, 2009. My mother recently found it in a pile of notes in her old Bible. Considering I just got done teaching “You Are What You Keep,” Part 2 of our series Unbreakable ReSOULutions at my church, I am in awe of what the Holy Spirit guided me to write--that many years ago. This is just a portion of the three-page letter: Dad and Mom: So where do I begin? My mind races every moment of the day and I still....
Have you ever heard the term “Swan Song?” It refers to the ancient belief that swans sing a beautiful song in the moment just before death, having been silent or not so musical during most of their lifetime. Stemmed from Greek mythology, I find there is some metaphorical truth to this. It is often in our darkest moments that we have a decision to make regarding....
Nobody can curse what God has blessed.I will testify that having a “Merry Christmas” has nothing to do with presents and everything to do with His presence. And guess what? From the beginning of time, God allows His promises to be born in strange places. “In a manger” (Luke 2:7). My Savior was born outside the world’s acceptance. “No room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:7). Having a "Merry Christmas" isn't about being liked by the crowd.......
