You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
The Gospel doesn’t just make bad people behave. It makes dead people live. This isn’t a self-help message, it’s a resurrection miracle. Christ didn’t come to improve us; He came to indwell us. “Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ…” (Ephesians 2:5).
The Lord's guidance is always tethered to His goodness. You see, whether it is a stop or a step, the Lord will direct and protect. "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way" (Psalm 37:23).
Our grandest defense against heresy is to hear what God has to say. You see, if we hear God's truth, we will not have ears for Satan's lies. "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Roman 10:17).
Integrity threatens those who lack it. And you’ll know that’s the case when a person lies in order to save face. "Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight" (Proverbs 12:22).
It is on our most holy faith that the "building" of our lives must be based. On Christ the solid rock we stand, for all other ground is sinking sand. "But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith..." (Jude 20).
Tragically, it is possible to be a "theological Christian" and yet remain a "practical pagan." This is what it means to have a form of godliness but denying its power. "For men will be lovers of themselves...having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!" (2 Timothy 3:2, 5).
Our faith in Christ needs to be greater than our fear of man. It doesn't matter what man thinks. What matters is what God said. "In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge" (Proverbs 14:26).
Comparative Analysis: Christianity vs. Islam Revelation and Textual Integrity: The Bible vs. The Quran • Muhammad claimed to have received revelations from the angel Gabriel for about 23 years, starting in 609 AD. The result was a sea of contradictions...
An timely reminder came to me on the night of my wedding encouraging me to view the time as a good friend. One of my groomsmen said to me multiple times, as the reception was progressing, “Breath it all in. It will never happen, ever again, like this!” And with those timely words, time never became so alive and so on my side. Instead of getting caught up in the speed of the reception.......
In two days I will be married. Or as our Instagram hashtag creatively expresses it, #letsgetMAHERied. There has been so much planning in such a short period of time (six weeks). From the day we set the date of November 8th, the favor from God has been overwhelming. (And thankfully we have our parents, siblings and other extended family members who have worked tirelessly for this day; ALL FORMS of FAVOR). One of the initial obstacles was finding a church large enough to hold our guest list. Thankfully a long time friend and Pastor......
Man, heck with “likes,” I’m trying to save lives! And NO, I'm not the Messiah. I'm just a wick that Jesus has set on fire! No disrespect to anyone who has ever “liked” my pics or points, but when do we make what we “like” online the very manifestation of what we are like outside: Outside the screen, whether it be our cell phone or our computer at home. I’m tired of being reduced to a “like” on my Facebook wall. If you don’t believe it.....
Deep thoughts from a deep heart--which only comes from deep scars. I still feel the crevice of pain every time I re-hash my story to the audiences that God has ordained for me to address. I know that I do not deserve the voice, far from it. But the students and youth deserve the message. And the community deserves this type of response, and all of this is in spite of me. I strongly desire.....
