You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
When we chase the wind, we end up empty. When we chase the Word, we end up full. The world offers noise; Christ offers nourishment. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).
We are either living on the pulse of the Spirit or the impulse of the flesh. Both are at odds, but only one is honorable to God. And we are led by whichever one is fed. Therefore, "walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16).
We err greatly by thinking the Church is a building filled with people. It is not. The Church is a people that God is building and filling with Himself. "I will build My church..." (Jesus).
The world defines greatness with numbers and how many people serve you. But the Lord applies greatness to the humble, which begs the question, "how can I serve you?" Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant (Matthew 20:26).
God's providence is expressed in the events that happen but also in what He prevents from happening. Whether visible or invisible, His hand is providential. "The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all" (Psalm 103:19).
The Lord's guidance is always tethered to His goodness. You see, whether it is a stop or a step, the Lord will direct and protect. "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way" (Psalm 37:23).
Our grandest defense against heresy is to hear what God has to say. You see, if we hear God's truth, we will not have ears for Satan's lies. "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Roman 10:17).
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
This blog is for me. It’s my reminder to remember where I once was and the work that only God could have ever accomplished. It’s so easy to forget the past places we’ve been and even the past faces we’ve seen. For me, the place was prison; and for this blog, the face is a young man named Tommy. When I first met Tommy, his nickname was Toast. Tommy Toast. And he “earned” this name because he spent a lot of time being “burnt out.” You see, Tommy was a self-proclaimed heroin addict. His addiction made heroin his salvation. However, his pursuit for the false salvation of drugs only left him so high that his actions consequentially led him to be so low. Oh so low. How low can you go? Well, this level has only one condition and position lower, and that is.....
Oh Lord, I do not know why You have found favor with me, nor can I ever explain properly how gracious and merciful You have been with my life, for there are no words that could express such magnitude, such greatness, such splendor. Your NAME alone is worthy to be praised and adored. With no solitary act behind it and just three letters on a piece of paper, G-O-D, is worth more than life itself. Your NAME holds more weight than this world and at the sound of your NAME alone, the hearts of mankind shatter and nations crumble. But You declare more than just....
Jesus said, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first” (John 8:7). And the only one who was sinless to throw, was the only one who wanted ALL sinners to know. Jesus wanted everyone down the ages to know that it is much better to be a stone than to throw a stone. You see, anyone can pick up a stone to judge, but what if we learned to pick up the characteristics of a stone to love? How so? Well, if “IMAYB a Stone,” than I cannot afford to throw....
We are officially home from our vacation time, but I have to admit that I have not left behind my “vacation mind.” What’s a vacation mind? It’s a state of mind that unwinds so that the peace of God may enter in. It’s a mind that rewinds to reflect and keeps God at the center. It’s a mind that finds its vacation in Christ without needing to escape from the everyday responsibilities of life. You see, this vacation didn’t help me get away, it actually reminded me to stay close. The time I spent in the Sunshine State reminded me of the shine that can only be found when you take time to “lay out” in the present state of....
