You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Light doesn’t argue with darkness, it simply shines into it. And darkness has no defense against even the smallest flame. In the same way, you don’t have to out-shout the culture or win every argument, you just have to out-shine it with Christ in you. "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:14).
"It is not a question of God 'sending us' to hell. In each of us there is something growing, which will BE Hell unless it is nipped in the bud." (C.S. Lewis) And only the cross of Christ can uproot the growing seed of sin. "But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world" (Galatians 6:14).
The love of Jesus can never be divorced from the truth of Jesus. The moment we want love without truth is the moment we have accepted an unbiblical version of Jesus. "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:14).
Many people may be convinced of the Gospel, but they have never been converted by the Gospel. The former knows information, the latter knows transformation. "But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him" (I John 2:5).
The fastest way to lose spiritual sensitivity is to give yourself over to sensuality. You see, when we stop feeding the spirit, we become bound and blinded by the flesh. "I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16).
Please do tell--what does an heir of heaven have in common with an heir of hell? Nothing. Therefore, let us be set apart from the world and for the Lord. "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14)
If Satan can convince angels to leave heaven, he can connive humans into hell. And that is why we must remain vigilant against his lies by remaining intimate with the truth. "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (I Peter 5:8).
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
“Do you go to medical?” That was a question repeatedly posed to me by a fellow inmate. The intent of the question was to figure out what drug I was taking. You see, in prison, men line up in droves to go to medical with the hopes of having legal drugs dispensed to them for a wide variety of reasons. I explained to this inmate that I wasn’t on any drugs and that I had never been to medical. He then inquired, “Then why do you look so happy all the time? After all, this is prison.” That whole exchange still brings a smile to my face as that question gave me an opportunity to testify about the peace that the Lord had encompassed me with in prison. Many would say...
I recently had the privilege to speak at a community event called “Praise in the Park,” which was held at the Cape May County Park/Zoo. It was a venue that consisted of several bands and singers performing to the praise of God in a public setting, with informational booths and fun attractions lining the outskirts of the area. The evening concluded by a special performance from the Christian band ‘Finding Favour’, whose top billboard hit song—Cast My Care—can be heard on XM Radio. Ironically, that song would resonate in my mind and is at the heart of why...

I was the most disciplined undisciplined person in the world. In academics, mom never had to remind me to study. Scholarly success was habitual. Homework done. Assignment complete. Test aced. Distinguished honors. I was disciplined to be the best student expected of me—though secretly complacent—I did enough to surpass my peers. In athletics, dad never had to remind me to train. Athletic success was innate. Gym time. Diet time. Game time. All-star honors. I was disciplined to be the best athlete required of me—though only self-satisfied—I did just enough to....
