You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Worry borrows tomorrow’s problems but spends today’s peace. The weight we imagine for the future often crushes our joy in the present. But God doesn’t ask us to carry tomorrow, He invites us to cast every care onto Him today. “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
Christ cannot be our present source of peace if we are constantly trying to chase the worlds pace. You see, when the heart stops running, peace begins reigning. "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful" (Colossians 3:15).
The heart of all our countries problems is a problem of the heart. If the heart of man doesn't change, then nothing will change. And only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can do that. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
The fastest way to lose sight of what God has called you to is to begin caring what others think of you. Fearing man ensnares; but fearing the Lord inspires. "The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe" (Proverbs 29:25).
Christians are to be counter to culture, while at the same time being the character of culture. In other words, salt changes what it touches but is not changed by the touch. Likewise, Christians are to be the godly influence of the world but we are not to be influenced by the ungodly world.
The blessings of God are not for the self-sufficient but for the poor in spirit. You see, to know we are bankrupt without Christ is to make us dependent upon His life. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:3).
When the going gets tough, don't give up, but rather know that Christ is enough. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13)
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
It always amazes me when I come across past blogs, letters, or emails that were written by me or to me when I was in prison. It is nothing short of amazing for me to read words that have come to full fruition in my life today. It reinforces how God's grace has directed my every step and how His plan doesn't need a helping hand. The thoughts below were written three years ago: ------------ Recently the Press of Atlantic City....
The world is fading and yet Jesus is still waiting. Longsuffering toward us because His love is long and His suffering was for us. We turn our back on God as a society at large. We call evil good, immorality no holds barred. This isn’t me pointing my finger at nonbelievers, because we all contribute to the filth and that is why we ALL....
I’ve said this many times, “After a tragedy, an even greater tragedy is failing to respond to the tragedy.” You can take it from me, one who caused a tragedy; or you can take it from a family, who when facing great tragedy, responded with strength of purpose through the tragedy. I am talking about Dr. and Mrs. Verea who oversee the Rebeka Verea Foundation, whose mission “say yes to life” has affected the lives of thousands of young people across....
Here I am again on the backside of yet another week and it once again feels as if the week just started. Where does the time go? Last week, at least I had an excuse as a stomach virus invaded my body causing me to lose half of my week to fever, nausea, and overall fatigue. But I made it through and not....
