You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Gratitude turns what we have into enough, because it shifts our focus from what’s missing to Who is present. A thankful heart sees God’s hand in both plenty and in pain, and finds peace in His provision. When we practice gratitude, lack loses its grip and contentment takes its place. “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
It doesn't matter if we know all the timelines of the Bible if we don't line up our times with the Bible. You see, what good is eschatology without knowing God personally? "Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed" (Romans 13:11).
Those who humbly know the Way will boldly go the Way. Also, nothing can get in the way of unashamedly showing others the Way. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek" (Romans 1:16).
While Jesus is preparing a place for us in heaven, He is preparing us for that place here on earth. You see, trials are for us in order to form us into the image of Jesus. "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us" (Romans 8:18).
To give the devil a toe-hold can quickly lead to a soul-hold. Yes, even a subtle compromise can begin a landslide to your own demise. Thus, we must guard our heart with all diligence so the Lord's way is our only consequence. "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life" (Proverbs 4:23).
All that is happening is happening not so that we hold on to life but so that we hold on to Christ. You see, crisis is an opportunity to know who Christ is. "That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death" (Philippians 3:10).
Jesus sat with sinners. He didn't sin with them. You see, He entered into our world so we could enter into His world. Likewise for us, when we empathize with people, we are making a way to evangelize the Gospel. "When Jesus heard it...
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
Do you have a thorn in the flesh? Oh how we as humans resist anything that agitates or irritates us. Yet, our “thorns” are not only divinely permitted, but they are even custom fitted. The Apostle Paul wrote about such thorns saying they come our way mainly for God’s strength to have its way in us (2 Corinthians 12:9). There is nothing wrong with praying for the irritation to be removed--Paul did and so did Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane--but when the answer from God is not removal but rather “this is by My approval”, then the thorn must become a launchpad for.....
It is late Wednesday evening and I am just now “strong” enough to share some thoughts about being weak. You see, for the past 2 days, I have been knocked off my feet and bed-ridden. I was held captive by intense nausea cuddling the toilet bowl the entire night. I was so weak and felt very vulnerable. But though I was a hostage to this sickness, believe it or not, I found myself detained by Gods grace. Please allow me to explain by sharing with you the caption that summarizes the message I will be.....
Seven years. Goodness gracious. How can it be? I am only where I am today because of God’s goodness and His graciousness toward me --and in spite of me. There would be no need for His grace without disgrace. You see, today, March 7th, marks the 7th year since my irresponsible and reckless decision to drink and drive, which claimed the life of Mr. Hort Kap and caused so many other lives to implode. From the inside out. This world doesn’t need help dishing pain out, yet on this fateful day in 2009, I became...
This week has jump-started a several month speaking tour, again with State Farm’s support, where the first several engagements were up in North Jersey, reaching close to 2,000 students. After each assembly, there is always about 15-20 minutes allotted for a Q&A with the students. The questions that come at me are usually the same, but each and every question still presents me with the opportunity to influence my audience even further. You see, the questions are like doors to their hearts, and when they ask them, it’s as if they are opening up to allow the truth in, regardless if they even....
