You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Gratitude turns what we have into enough, because it shifts our focus from what’s missing to Who is present. A thankful heart sees God’s hand in both plenty and in pain, and finds peace in His provision. When we practice gratitude, lack loses its grip and contentment takes its place. “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
The Hands that hung the world on its axis allowed the world's hands to hang Him on a cross. Let that sink in! Oh how great His sovereignty and humility. "He hangs the earth on nothing" (Job 26:7); "Then Pilate delivered Jesus to them to be crucified..." (John 19:16).
We can live to please God or we can live to appease man, but we cannot do both. And to live to please the Lord is to care less about being approved by the world. "For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to...
Our faith is not determined by the Bill of Rights but by what the Bible says is right. In other words, in Christ alone, we are free to speak truth and we are truthfully free regardless of any push back or hostility. "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed" (John 8:36).
All hell breaks loose when pulpits fail to preach truth. Conversely, heaven arrives when Christians choose courage over compromise. "Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law" (Proverbs 29:18).
When you know God stands with you, it doesn't matter who stands against you. "What then shall we say? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
When our eyes are lifted to heaven, our minds are lifted by heaven. In other words, our minds cannot be downcast when the Lord is in our forecast. "I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help. My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth" (Psalm 121:1-2).
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
It’s hard to write these days….. probably because it’s easier to see right these days. I mean compared to all the wrong that I used to write about because it was easier to find at least one hard lesson a day, when I was working my thoughts out. Today there is less pressure pressing and less chaos confessing. You see, all the turmoil use to speak clearly to me, and I......
Things may not add up right now in your life, but do not lose heart. Sometimes the events of life aren’t exactly what we intended or prayed for, and it is in that misunderstanding that we lose hope and faith. Sometimes an event blind sides us to the point of paralysis, where mind, body and spirit are held captive by the pain and shock of what we just experienced. If that sounds like where you are at right now, consider Mary’s experience. Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, must have lost....
(Excerpt from "Once Upon a Time in Paradise".....Coming Soon!) "Comparability" I wonder what the “match results” would be if you put, “I need a helper comparable to me,” as an answer to one of the questions on an online dating service website? Would it be able to match you with your suitor? Maybe actually, ha! So why can’t we trust God—the Ultimate Matchmaker—if we are willing to trust a computer for our suitor? I am not discrediting anyone who has used such services, because God will use any avenue to bring people together, but I want to make it clear that if you don’t invite Him into your “search,” how can you be sure that these exterior avenues will find you a helper comparable to you? It is God who said of Adam, “I will make him a helper comparable to him” (Genesis 2:18); thus, I don’t have to google search “a helper comparable to me” and....
My eyes are running heavy, but that’s ok as long as the mind isn’t running heavy. And the mind can carry such a wild load of items. From past, present, and future, the minds workload can carry weights never intended to be weighed by the brain. We think about matters of the past that we cannot change. We dwell upon moments of the present that make us deranged. We imagine memories of the future that are not yet arranged. And every train of thought crashes upon our soul without a battle fought. The vacillating mind takes us into every place except....
