You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Light doesn’t argue with darkness, it simply shines into it. And darkness has no defense against even the smallest flame. In the same way, you don’t have to out-shout the culture or win every argument, you just have to out-shine it with Christ in you. "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:14).
Just because an issue has been politicized does not mean the Church and Christian should be neutralized. In other words, the world may claim separation of Church and State, but the believer knows the Church is to be salt and...
We are either living like our time is in God’s hands or we are not. Faith knows it is. Fear lives like it’s not. Choose faith over fear. "My times are in Your hand" (Psalm 31:15).
Living joy and lasting peace cannot be found apart from having a relationship with Christ. In Him we acquire an enduring hope that this world cannot offer. "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13).
In a world filled with so many uncertainties, let us cling to the King of Eternity. He not only knows the end from the beginning, but He also holds the final word over everything. "The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all" (Psalm 103:19).
The Christian is to be conditioned by the truth of Scripture, not by the trends of culture. Again, we are to be so primed by the Shepherd that we are not prone to wander. "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me" (John 10:27).
There is no sin, no shame, no past, and no pain when you know Jesus. You see, He not only died for our sin and shame, but He is the only one who can redeem our past and our pain. Do you know Him?
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
Sometimes you just have to pray through your nightmare because sometimes, just sometimes, our dreams are swallowed by a pit, a prison, or a pain. I immediately think of Joseph in the Bible. In so many verses it says that “the Lord was with Joseph and he prospered.” Mind you, he was a slave and the Lord’s hand was still with him mightily and obviously. BUT here’s the point: God’s only with a man or woman who is committed to being with God. Again, the Bible confirms, “the LORD is with you.....
The blog heard ‘round the world. No seriously, why can’t I think this way? I mean, why shouldn’t I believe what Jesus Himself has said, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12). Jesus gives us the authority to believe...
I wrote the piece below when I was inmate #314525E. You see, many people view my life now from the vantage point of, “Isn’t he lucky that so many things have worked out for him.” And so, I want to remind you where this piece was penned—in a dark place, often surrounded by lots of shady people and in the vice-grip of a system that is bent on squeezing the worst out of you. And yet because I understood WHO my God was/is---I NEVER lost hope and determined to deal hope to all those who the Lord placed around me---within prison and now outside of prison. So…as you read this piece, ponder the question of whether you are a dealer or a stealer?
There is so much beauty in vulnerability. Consider the many distressful Psalms in the Bible, penned by King David during moments of fatigue, failure, or frustration. Yet, through the transparency of the hurt comes the clarity of the Healer--and therefore hope and encouragement to all those reading them. Recently, I have had the pleasure of hearing testimonies from some of my students and peers alike. Actually, we were in the middle of breaking down “the Law of His Instrument”, a concept from my book, ‘U MAY B THE ONLY BIBLE SOMEBODY READS’. The “law” states that “surrendering to the grip of grace will hold you up to a higher standard of influence.” Meaning, when we....
