You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Gratitude turns what we have into enough, because it shifts our focus from what’s missing to Who is present. A thankful heart sees God’s hand in both plenty and in pain, and finds peace in His provision. When we practice gratitude, lack loses its grip and contentment takes its place. “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
In a world that is hell-bent on tearing others down, let us be the antithesis by lifting others up in the Name of Jesus. How do we do this? Simple, go out of your way to encourage someone today! "Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing" (I Thessalonians 5:11).
Spend time today thanking God for what you have and don't have. If you have it, God gave it. If you don't have it, God knows you don't need it. "In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (I Thessalonians 5:18).
Let this be a reminder: It's not our righteous acts that attach us to Christ. It's our attachment to Christ that produces righteous acts.
Our reliance and dependence upon God must begin fresh and anew each day, because yesterday's devotions are not enough to carry us through today's challenges. Therefore, let us pray, "Give us this day our daily bread"--the bread of life--which is Jesus Christ.
Nothing in this world can change our relation to sin unless we become "born again." Because to choose Christ as the King of your soul is to dethrone sin from being in control. "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." --Jesus
The Bible says to "cast your cares," not carry them (1 Peter 5:7). Why? Because God not only cares for us, but He also knows what anxiety can do to us. Thus, what are you holding onto that you need to give to God because He cares for you?
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
Without affliction, we often don't change our direction. As David wrote, "Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey Your word" (Psalm 119:67). In other words, God will allow an affliction to grace our lives to move us closer to His life. And even if we are personally responsible for our own afflictions, God still uses it to mold us into His image. You see, He is never surprised when...
No matter what you may have done, the pardon of God is already done. But will you accept it? And with godly sorrow (repentance), one must refuse to regret. You see, our petition for pardon is granted because of the cross of Jesus Christ, which leads to a change of mind and transformation of life. But there...
Not too many days pass without receiving a message from someone through social media or through my website about a present adversity that they are navigating. Not only is it an honor that they trust me with their plights, but my way of honoring them back is by humbly offering them my personal pain insights. And for the record, you don't learn ministry through a textbook or...
(Book #1 of the Core Conviction Series--Imprisoned by Peace) Where have I been most of my young life thus far? I have been all over the country in my travels with soccer, from childhood as a novice player to adulthood as a professional athlete. I have been to so many great colleges and universities, visiting those campuses either for pleasure or sports-related activities. I have even lived in some beautiful cities in my day. But where have I been while...
