You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Some opportunities don’t come again. Just as Paul sensed winter approaching and called for urgency, when God prompts your heart, act quickly. Delayed obedience can be disobedience in disguise. Discern what season you're in right now and do what the Spirit is leading you to do. “Do your utmost to come before winter" (2 Timothy 4:21).
It is seriously GREAT that we can talk about God. But it is solely GRACE that we can talk to God. Because of Jesus, we have access! "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16).
Complaining isn't caused by the greatness of our troubles in life, but more so by the littleness of our trust in Christ. Think about that! Because if we truly trusted God through thick and thin, then we wouldn't grumble and...
One may know the Word of God by studying. But the only way to know the God of the Word is through abiding. Abiding means to "stay in," to "connect with," and "continue at." Then Jesus said, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed" (John 8:31).
If truth be told, the only way to not be conformed to the world and its pull, is to daily allow the Word of God to transform the soul. You see, because of the inherent sin in our skin, we are inclined to be worldly. However, because of the...
Faith isn't about personal happiness, but rather glorifying God no matter what happens to us. You see, real faith honors God and God honors real faith.
You may still be in a storm, but the moment you learn to "be still" in the storm and know that God is in control, is the very moment the storm no longer controls you and His peace can enter your soul. "Be still and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10).
Christian, use your brain. I’m not talking to the world; I’m talking to true believers. Discernment isn’t just a spiritual gift; it’s a spiritual discipline. It’s forged through...
The weather has been pretty suspicious lately rapidly moving from random and sporadic thunderstorms to hail falling from the sky to tornadoes touching down. Sometimes the weather forecast seems to be inconsistent, yet most of the time, we are still able to discern what’s coming by way of satellites and maps. And that reminds me of the words of Jesus as He rebukes the religious folk for asking for a sign from heaven. He sharply says, “Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times” (Matthew 16:3). So how is it we can discern the face of the sky, but not discern....
The human body is a resilient instrument and can sustain a substantial amount of trauma. But, one of the most vulnerable organs is the heart--if it takes an intense hit-- the likelihood that the body will shut down is imminent. And that is what is known as a heart attack, where an inadequate supply of oxygen causes an area of the heart muscle to die, radiating and destroying other parts of the body. And while a physical heart attack can be fatal, quite the opposite occurs when the heart of God (His people) are attacked--it then proves to be resilient and full of mercy. God’s blood drips forgiveness as exhibited by the victims of those connected to the recent cold blood......
(continued from previous iBLOG—"Up On Stage") ….After thanking the appropriate parties for the invitation to be at the graduation ceremony, I transitioned to the reason I was requested to deliver the keynote in the first place; To remind the graduates how every decision they will make from this point forward will determine their destinies. So I thought, what would I tell the senior graduating version of myself? Hmmm, if I could go back and tell myself 5 of the most consequential truths that I have learned through my journey of transitions, what would I share? All of which came to light in my heart and mind in the darkness of prison. All of which were learned through trouble. But trouble that God trusted me with. Graduates…..
Truly it was a great honor to be invited--by the graduating seniors and the Administration of Atlantic Christian School--to be their 2015 commencement speaker. As I took the stage, I knew there were probably a lot of people who were wondering who I was and why was I up on stage with the honorary participants of the night. So I begin, “And in case you are wondering ‘who I am’ and ‘why am I up here?’ Well, please allow me to join you in that question….(dramatic pause)….but please also allow me to humbly propose to you, the answer: But by.....
