Light doesn’t argue with darkness, it simply shines into it. And darkness has no defense against even the smallest flame. In the same way, you don’t have to out-shout the culture or win every argument, you just have to out-shine it with Christ in you. "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:14).
You cannot be more prodigal than God. You may have gone far from Him, but Jesus went farther than your sin to bring you back to Him. He went to hell to bring us to heaven. And when you realize that about His prodigal grace, you will have found your way back into His warm embrace. Again, our recklessness cannot trump God's faithfulness because nothing can separate us from the prodigal love of Jesus.
When the heart is open to Jesus, the ear is open to His word, the lips are opened in prayer, the hand is opened in charity, and the steps are opened in obedience.
The heart that fails to love God will successfully love the things of this world. And no matter how much success you find in the world, you will never find satisfaction outside of the Lord. "For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world." (I John 2:15)
For the Christian, true greatness always begins where self is lost and Christ is found. Conversely, those who live with “self” as their main focus will always miss the plan and presence of Jesus.
Be careful what you believe in. Be mindful of the people you lean on. Be cautious of the voices you subscribe to. Be on guard with the sources you read through. Follow the Truth of Christ over the worlds trends, because to follow lies will lead to a sure end. #TruthOverTrend
