Light doesn’t argue with darkness, it simply shines into it. And darkness has no defense against even the smallest flame. In the same way, you don’t have to out-shout the culture or win every argument, you just have to out-shine it with Christ in you. "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:14).
Whatever consumes your mind controls your life. Let it be the love of Jesus.
The quickest way to extinguish the work of God in your life is to begin living for yourself. Self always eclipses the light of the Savior. Conversely, the quickest way to exalt the work of God in your life is to begin living for Jesus. God's favor follows the person who follows the Savior.
God has a plan for your life and it's more glorious than you can even imagine. You need not worry about what it looks like or how it's going to work out. Just worship the Lord with gladness and leave the consequences up to Him.
It is impossible to have an ear for the Lord if your heart is tuned to the noise of the world. Therefore, get alone with the Lord in silence so that He can re-tune your heart to follow Him in obedience.
We were created for so much more than to just sit in a sanctuary every Saturday night or Sunday morning. We were created to change the world beyond the building. We were created to get up from the pews and tell the world the Good News. We were created to be different and make a difference
