You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
When we chase the wind, we end up empty. When we chase the Word, we end up full. The world offers noise; Christ offers nourishment. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).
We err greatly when we pursue a "religious" cause without checking with the heart of God. Religious activity is often void of real intimacy, because true works for God can only occur when one has tapped into the heart of God.
The gospel isn’t just talking about the power of God, it is the power of God. It is the means by which all sinners can encounter a Savior. And if that isn't gracious enough, consider this: we were dead in our sin when God decided to enter in. He intervened with His life and intercepted us from death.
The realest you is the clearest you. When we put a filter on our lives, even the slightest touch up makes it a lie. Again, you don't need a filter on your life when God has put His favor on your life.
The greatest enemy against your God-given destiny is often personal complacency. And to be stuck in such a "place" is to delay God's best plan for your life.
The most powerful sermon in the world isn't made up of eloquent talk. The most powerful sermon in the world is a consistent and obedient Christian walk. You see, the eye of the world takes in more than the ear, making what they see in us become the very sermon that may lead them to Jesus.
The personality of Christ was not meant to remain on paper, but to be written in people. Because whatever is inscribed within us will eventually be read on us. Therefore, if we are truly “epistles” written by the gracious hand of Christ Himself, we will progressively display His glory and the shape of His personality.
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
Sometimes you just have to pray through your nightmare because sometimes, just sometimes, our dreams are swallowed by a pit, a prison, or a pain. I immediately think of Joseph in the Bible. In so many verses it says that “the Lord was with Joseph and he prospered.” Mind you, he was a slave and the Lord’s hand was still with him mightily and obviously. BUT here’s the point: God’s only with a man or woman who is committed to being with God. Again, the Bible confirms, “the LORD is with you.....
The blog heard ‘round the world. No seriously, why can’t I think this way? I mean, why shouldn’t I believe what Jesus Himself has said, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12). Jesus gives us the authority to believe...
I wrote the piece below when I was inmate #314525E. You see, many people view my life now from the vantage point of, “Isn’t he lucky that so many things have worked out for him.” And so, I want to remind you where this piece was penned—in a dark place, often surrounded by lots of shady people and in the vice-grip of a system that is bent on squeezing the worst out of you. And yet because I understood WHO my God was/is---I NEVER lost hope and determined to deal hope to all those who the Lord placed around me---within prison and now outside of prison. So…as you read this piece, ponder the question of whether you are a dealer or a stealer?
There is so much beauty in vulnerability. Consider the many distressful Psalms in the Bible, penned by King David during moments of fatigue, failure, or frustration. Yet, through the transparency of the hurt comes the clarity of the Healer--and therefore hope and encouragement to all those reading them. Recently, I have had the pleasure of hearing testimonies from some of my students and peers alike. Actually, we were in the middle of breaking down “the Law of His Instrument”, a concept from my book, ‘U MAY B THE ONLY BIBLE SOMEBODY READS’. The “law” states that “surrendering to the grip of grace will hold you up to a higher standard of influence.” Meaning, when we....
