You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
God never calls us to reshape His truth to fit our preferences; He calls us to reshape our lives to fit His truth. A heart committed to truth welcomes correction, while a heart committed to self will always find a way to justify itself. Ask God for the humility to love what is true, even when it challenges you. "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise" (Proverbs 12:15).
God knew every mistake and error you would ever make, and He knew this even before the very first breath you would ever take. In other words, it is your shortcomings and failures that make you eligible for a Savior. Therefore, stop focusing on your mess and start celebrating the cross.
The moment of your greatest sacrifice will also be the precise moment of your greatest and most miraculous blessing.
When we place our faith in Jesus, we are justified. In other words, JUST-IF-I'D never sinned in the first place. Again, when we place our faith in Jesus, the Father no longer sees us in sin, but He sees us in His Son.
The gift that God gave you will get you there, but only the favor of God can keep you there. Therefore, do not let your gift become your god, but let the true God make much of Himself through the gift.
The hope of heaven is the greatest anchor to the soul that's heavy. You see, with hope, you can always stand up even when the weight of your circumstances is telling you to sit down. Because with hope, heaven's control is greater than earths pull.
Young ladies, your value isn't produced by a mirror. Your value is provided in Jesus the Savior. He obviously thought you were "to die for."
What we are watching as so many people reject layer after layer of evidence in the Charlie Kirk murder case is not merely a failure of reason or the physical senses. We are witnessing the material consequence of spiritual deception. Scripture calls it a strong delusion. In 2 Thessalonians 2:10–12, Paul warns of those who “did not receive the...
Here I sit on my comfortable couch with a 55-inch flat screen tv in front of me and my state of the art MacBook on top of me. I just controlled the lighting to my liking and before I go any further—please excuse me—I’m going to grab a quick drink and snack from the fridge…Okay, I’m back now, still comfortable, but at a loss for words to type. And I’m humbly reminded how this is the complete opposite of how I used to write while in prison. Yet I never had an ounce of trouble writing a full page of deep thoughts graciously surrounded by peace in the midst of so much chaos and so little comfort. Back then, I typed on an antiquated....
“If you have any negative questions, comments, or concerns, please forward them to my Complaint Department. His name is Little John.” ✝ I say that jokingly in assemblies sometimes, and it certainly gets the audience laughing; because at this point in the presentation, they have already heard me share a story about Little John and I, which involves some prison drama and a tense showdown with some gang members. Of course I couple the story with his picture to drive the oxymoron home about Little John--not being so little......
Our performance doesn’t enhance or reduce God’s faithfulness. And with that opening sentence, it is my utmost privilege to report that God is still in the salvaging business despite our idea behind our own personal usefulness. Sarah and I recently participated in a youth event in Pennsylvania where I was the keynote speaker of the night. I’ve done this particular “presentation” before, which requires PowerPoint slides and embedded video; for it is the most structured way to tell my story without getting caught up in certain areas and timelines. Time is always ticking....
I am currently in Paramus, NJ, where this hotel will be Sarah and mines home away from home for the next 3 days. I am up here for several assemblies at area schools, funded by State Farm, and in conjunction with the Be Still Foundation. Now that school is back in session, my speaking engagement schedule is in full throttle. I will actually be doing about 26 engagements before the New Year, not counting ministry-speaking platforms. Again, I make mention of this busyness because....
