You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
The devil’s accusations stop where the blood of Jesus starts; and hell’s fury can’t outrun Heaven’s victory. Stay covered by the blood, anchored in the Word, and fearless in your testimony. "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death" (Revelation 12:11).
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Only those who are truly aware of the ugliness of their sin against God can be truly aware of the beauty of Gods grace toward them.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Therefore, submit to God" (James 4:7). If we are not constantly submitting to God, then we are likely drifting from Him. If you don't feel as close to God as you used to, the question is, "who moved?"
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: Jesus not only knew everything intellectually, but He was also willing to show what He knew passionately. You see, a head full of knowledge means nothing without a heart full of compassion. We must be willing to feel the pain in the people around us in order to show them the reason for our hope and healing within us. And the closer we get to Jesus, the more compassion we will have for people.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth" (Colossians 3:2). If we are always watching other people and worrying about what they are doing with their lives, then we will miss what God is trying to do in our lives. He stays speaking to us and that is why we have to stay looking to Him.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: This world may be trying to push God out of it, but don't you dare let it push God out of you. Be unashamed to live for Jesus because the gospel proves that He was unashamed to die for you.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: The gospel is the power of God that renewed the world--from the bloody cross to the empty tomb--and continues to move the world because of a risen Lord and glorious Savior. The question I need to ask myself, "Has it stopped renewing and moving me?"
Comparative Analysis: Christianity vs. Islam Revelation and Textual Integrity: The Bible vs. The Quran • Muhammad claimed to have received revelations from the angel Gabriel for about 23 years, starting in 609 AD. The result was a sea of contradictions...
The ministry of Jesus was publicly loud. So loud--that His life and love 2000 years later--are still impacting hearts and changing the world for the good. The question must be asked then--How did He accomplish so much in such a short period of time? Well, after a close look within the Scriptures, we will discover that....
About a week before Jesus would go through Gethsemane and to the cross of Calvary, His agony is seen visually and heard verbally in regards to His impending death. However, His death was the purpose in which He came and it is important to know that death did not interrupt His ministry, it fulfilled...
The pattern of pain has taught me much. Pain comes with a paragon, and if followed closely, leads to appreciation and passion to be used for greater purpose. Straying away from pain however, only brings you closer to shame. And when in shame, we shut down or lash out. Shutting down leads to depression and lashing out leads to guilt projection. Not the purpose of pain whatsoever...at least not....
I know what it’s like to feel the suffocating grip of loneliness. Yet when it was done squeezing me, Jesus was still with me. I know what it’s like to feel the nauseating feeling of helplessness. Yet when there was no more help to hold onto, that’s when I discovered that God’s hope was holding onto me. I know what it’s like to taste despair and swallow shame. Yet both ingredients were necessary to break my hard heart so it could be mended by grace. I know what it’s like to be lost in the world. Yet by God’s grace alone, I now know what it’s like to be found by the Lord. "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, who made heaven and earth" (Psalm 121:1-2).
