People have been so conditioned to distrust authority that everything becomes a conspiracy theory. And now “just asking questions” has become a cover for rejecting answers. Skepticism isn’t the problem, but when it gives way to aimless blame and empty sarcasm, it reveals the spirit of the age. All the while forgetting: God is still sovereign over the affairs of man, and nothing unfolds outside the boundaries of His will. So instead of spending our days chasing our own worldly "tales," let us anchor our lives in God’s eternal truth. “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17).
God will get His. To those who are real with it, that's exciting. But to those who are faking it, that ought to be terrifying. In other words, whatever we sow, we will eventually grow. Whether now or later, God will get His.
Faith in a living God is the only remedy that can revive a dead society. Without faith in Jesus infusing our moral courage, every attempt at "reform" or "progress" will leave behind nothing but carnage. "Moral courage is in short supply and beyond valuable. Yet sadly, it's usually the most absent characteristic in men. If you won't stand for your faith, you won't stand at all" (Lt. General "Jerry" Boykin).
Religion can never grant us peace. Only Jesus can. Politics will never win us liberty. Only Jesus will. Philosophy has never produced lasting love. Only Jesus has. Nothing in this known world can save a soul. Only Jesus.
Real men love Jesus, live for Jesus, and lead others to Jesus. Period. For there is no other realness apart from Christ-righteousness.
Now is never the right time to be silent about your faith. Remember however, the lion doesn't always need to roar to be noticed. Just love loud and live loud, while showing others that Jesus is who the noise is all about.
Just as the sun is sure to rise daily, so is the man who trusts in the Lord personally--"Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand" (Psalm 37:24).
What we are witnessing in these protests and walkouts is not random unrest, but the fruit of decades of moral decay left untreated. When a nation rejects God’s order long enough, disorder does not merely grow, it metastasizes. Not because rightly ordered authority causes rebellion, but because rebellion...
Can you hear the tone of my written words? Is it laughable? Applaudable? Audible? It is often the pitch that gives away the feelings of our spoken words, so how can we tell the pitch of our written words? If I were reading my words to you, my body language would help stress a point. My tone would control the flavor of my words. The volume and pauses are speaker’s tools to persuade, so without being able to speak audibly, how can I get you to....
I recently was asked to put together a ‘year in review’ resume for a proposal that a friend of mine was working on. It was not the easiest thing to do given all of the ministry opportunities God has given me since my release from prison. I think it was then, when I was crunching the numbers, that I was truly humbled by the many different outlets God has given me to plant seeds or water existing seeds--about Who He is and what He will do with surrendered hearts. I don’t believe there is ever anything wasteful about adversity, unless we ourselves see the adversity as wasteful. Thus, our vision determines our conclusion. Without vision, a person has no purpose; and without purpose, a person has no hope. A life absent of hope then, is a life absent of life. I’m not trying to get all philosophical—but the bottom line is—that God has given us Jesus as the focal point of our hope, which allows us to walk through any of the temporary stuff--messy or not--with the steps of eternity....
