You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Gratitude turns what we have into enough, because it shifts our focus from what’s missing to Who is present. A thankful heart sees God’s hand in both plenty and in pain, and finds peace in His provision. When we practice gratitude, lack loses its grip and contentment takes its place. “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead" (Philippians 3:13). Being stuck on past problems and past pains will always keep you from your present purpose and present power. God cannot walk you forward in your circumstances if you are continually looking backwards. Allow God to heal your past so that you can purposefully feel your present.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: What's the highest point of life? To point people to Jesus. Period.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: It doesn't matter what you're working on, if you don't take the time to put the work in on your knees, than the work before you will never amount to anything. To put your best foot forward each day is to put both knees to the floor each day. "O Lord, Your will be done. Amen."
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends" (John 15:13). Love always requires sacrifice. One must be willing to give up something in one area in order to produce something else in another area. If you aren't willing to sacrifice for love, than you aren't willing to experience love; For there is no greater love than sacrificial love. Ask Jesus!
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: Stay encouraged! Good things take time and a God-thing is always on time. In God's economy, delays are not denials, so keep praying and keep working while waiting. Just stay encouraged!
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "When He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet" (Luke 24:40). Don't hide your scars. Let them tell your story as a way to help somebody else get through their agony. Even Jesus bore His scars to soothe a doubting heart, so why not let your scars be where somebody else's healing starts?
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
Saturday's blog, (1/21/17), concluded: “Here I sit. Visualizing where my treasure needs to be and if my heart had feet, it would certainly follow. But my heart is chained to regret. Regretting is regressing. Backwards you think, backwards you go. Buried. Solid ground is right above you. If you can only push through the loose sand that holds you. Quickly, if you can. But panicking turns it...
Admin. Note: Penned from prison, this writing has been broken up into two parts. Part 2 will be posted Monday. Taking it all for granted. Devaluing value leads to losing invaluables. I was once king of depreciation and I recognize this now only in hindsight. After it’s already gone. All of it. Lost. And you realize it only when it’s too late, where it is impossible to be replaced. Reputation, sunk like a ship. Losing priceless people in your life by neglecting your side of...
As Christians, we need to refuse to allow the world to speak louder than us. And when our words won’t do it, our walk will. Our peers may not always believe what we say about faith, but it’s our responsibility to inspire them to believe by how we act in our faith. Example always trumps the verbal. You see, it’s easy to...
If you're a person of faith, you've probably experienced faulty accusations and sometimes even outright persecution. And unfortunately there will be times when your presence diminishes somebody else’s significance, and then you've inadvertently created an enemy without even knowing it. Your intention is not to intimidate....
