You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Light doesn’t argue with darkness, it simply shines into it. And darkness has no defense against even the smallest flame. In the same way, you don’t have to out-shout the culture or win every argument, you just have to out-shine it with Christ in you. "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden" (Matthew 5:14).
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: Jesus said, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified" (John 12:23). The Son of God was glorified when He was crucified. The Father always brings great purpose out of great pain.....If we allow Him.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful" (I Corinthians 4:2). God does not ask us to be successful. He invites us to be faithful. In other words, share God's Word even when people don't care for God's Word. Faithfulness will never return empty.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear" (I John 4:18). If you don't have an antidote for fear, you will be crushed by it. You need Jesus, for He is the antidote that drives out all fear.
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Love never fails" (I Corinthians 13:8). Love never leaves a heart in the same condition it found it. Love touches the untouchable and when wronged, doesn't count it. Love never.....
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: “And by His stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). There is nothing we can do to be virtuous on our own, except to accept the fruit of the wounds of the One who made us virtuous on His own. Imagine that if you will! His pain is now our gain. His agony was for our glory. His shame was for our salvation. His rejection was for our redemption. His hurt was for our healing. Truly God is for us!
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ..." (Romans 1:16). Be unashamed for the One who bore your shame. Not just in church, but in your everyday world. Be bold where it matters.
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
Do you have a thorn in the flesh? Oh how we as humans resist anything that agitates or irritates us. Yet, our “thorns” are not only divinely permitted, but they are even custom fitted. The Apostle Paul wrote about such thorns saying they come our way mainly for God’s strength to have its way in us (2 Corinthians 12:9). There is nothing wrong with praying for the irritation to be removed--Paul did and so did Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane--but when the answer from God is not removal but rather “this is by My approval”, then the thorn must become a launchpad for.....
It is late Wednesday evening and I am just now “strong” enough to share some thoughts about being weak. You see, for the past 2 days, I have been knocked off my feet and bed-ridden. I was held captive by intense nausea cuddling the toilet bowl the entire night. I was so weak and felt very vulnerable. But though I was a hostage to this sickness, believe it or not, I found myself detained by Gods grace. Please allow me to explain by sharing with you the caption that summarizes the message I will be.....
Seven years. Goodness gracious. How can it be? I am only where I am today because of God’s goodness and His graciousness toward me --and in spite of me. There would be no need for His grace without disgrace. You see, today, March 7th, marks the 7th year since my irresponsible and reckless decision to drink and drive, which claimed the life of Mr. Hort Kap and caused so many other lives to implode. From the inside out. This world doesn’t need help dishing pain out, yet on this fateful day in 2009, I became...
This week has jump-started a several month speaking tour, again with State Farm’s support, where the first several engagements were up in North Jersey, reaching close to 2,000 students. After each assembly, there is always about 15-20 minutes allotted for a Q&A with the students. The questions that come at me are usually the same, but each and every question still presents me with the opportunity to influence my audience even further. You see, the questions are like doors to their hearts, and when they ask them, it’s as if they are opening up to allow the truth in, regardless if they even....
