You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
In Psalm 42, the psalmist describes wave after wave of adversity crashing over his soul. Deep sorrow was calling to deeper sorrow. Yet centuries later, an even greater "deep" would answer. The depths of Christ's suffering on the cross cried out to the depths of the tomb, and from that collision came resurrection victory. Because Jesus entered the deepest waters for us and emerged triumphant, no depth of despair is beyond the reach of His redeeming power. “Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me” (Psalm 42:7).
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10). Fear not! If the devil....
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "For God so loved the world that HE GAVE...." (John 3:16). We know who He gave, but do we......
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me'" (John 14:6). False facts are fatal! Know....
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble" (Matthew 6:33-34). In other words....
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "It is better to weather the storm with Christ then to sail smooth waters without Him. Whether the weather be cold......
Matthew Maher presents Daily Dose: "As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend" (Proverbs 27:17). Sparks may fly, but character....
What we are witnessing in these protests and walkouts is not random unrest, but the fruit of decades of moral decay left untreated. When a nation rejects God’s order long enough, disorder does not merely grow, it metastasizes. Not because rightly ordered authority causes rebellion, but because rebellion...
Is it worth it to gain status and success, yet only to lose your soul through this process? It may look progressive, but it's actually destructive. You see, progression is thought to be advancement in a certain area of your life; Gaining momentum; Or to develop to a more advanced stage. For example, we progress in our education as we advance from grade to grade, and degree to degree. I progressed for sixteen years of schooling and obtained a degree in Business Administration. Progression? Personally....
I'm not religious and I'll tell you why. Religion is not a belief system, it is a system that conforms your belief. It is not “freedom,” it is spiritual slavery. Religion is restriction and that is why it means “bond” aka bondage. Yet, when we become religious, we are openly identifying ourselves with a hierarchy of man. A platform that has removed God. A majority of the Jesus’ enemies were religious...
Suffering is often misunderstood, but that’s because we fail to see how God uses it for our good. Jesus learned obedience through suffering (Hebrews 5:8), so how much more must we heed to suffering in order to simply learn. Think about it. We suffer little by little each day, as aging brings us closer to death. So if I already know I’m going to die, shouldn’t I be learning obedience with each and every breath? The problem is not death however, because in Christ you shall never die; but the problem is how we miss the opportunity to have life abundant before “death” by complaining our way to death. Man essentially....
I just got home from church and outside of my place was a retired Easter basket. I say "retired" because you can tell it served its purpose for that one day of the year--Easter Sunday--to hold the contents of chocolate and other choice Easter candies. But now, this basket that once held goodies is presently holding emptiness. It was only "filled up" for the day, and sadly, so it seems, it did not live...
