God’s sovereignty never eliminates human responsibility. We pray because God is sovereign, and we participate in the public square because He has entrusted us with godly influence. Being salt and light means faithfully engaging every sphere where God has placed us, including the civic sphere. “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God” (Romans 13:1).

Merry CHRISTmas! I recently saw the movie Exodus: gods & kings, and what a major let down. You see, when you know the true story, the worlds portrayal of it is always empty. I left the theater greatly distressed about the script that Hollywood concocted, which was at the expense of the truth of Scriptures and the reality of God’s holiness. Is it just a Christmas story or can there be a Christmas reality? Well, whichever one you perceive is determined by the “Christmas” that you conceive in the womb of your heart. One births purpose, and the other, well, just presents. You see, what if I told you God’s testimony starts with a birth, was fulfilled with a death, and continues with your life? And the only way it can really end is if you don’t allow His message to enter your mess.
