Whatever the Lord has set apart, the devil seeks to tear apart. And that is why we must keep our focus on Christ whenever going through difficulty or times of uncertainty. The Lord will use our trouble to refine us, but the enemy will try to convince us that our trouble is what defines us. "But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is godly; the Lord will hear when I call to Him" (Psalm 4:3).

Whatever is keeping you from the Lord needs to be removed from your life. Be it a relationship, a hobby or habit, it needs to be removed and replaced with the Lord. "I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved" (Psalm 16:8).

The greatest prayer we can pray is not for “good fortune” but for God’s favor. "There are many who say, “Who will show us any good?” Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us" (Psalm 4:6).

The Bible holds authority over all humanity, not just believers. All will one day stand before the Author. And as a minister of the Word, I am not to be an editor of God's Word, only a messenger of it. "If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God" (1 Peter 4:11).

What you are going through may not feel good nor look good. But rest assured that God is still good. It’s all worth it—the hard work and the hardship—because the Lord is worthy. "For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe" (1 Timothy 4:10).

The Spirit forewarns us of perilous times in order to forearm us with pertinent truth. And that is why Bible prophecy is given, not to scare but to prepare.
