When it comes to sin, doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results is not insanity, it's depravity. "As a dog returns to his own vomit, so a fool repeats his folly" (Proverbs 26:11).

When our hope is in the wrong deliverance, then what is delivered is hopelessness. Again, trust misplaced often leads to being disgraced. And that is why "some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God" (Psalm 20:7).

For man so hates the Lord that he's a slave to his only begotten sin. Conversely, for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

Choosing the god of sin always ends in shame. And only the Son of God can put an end to shame. Thus, you can kill sin through Christ or sin will kill your life. "For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame" (Romans 10:11).

When we gossip about others, we not only break the heart of God, but we quench the work of God in our hearts. So instead of using our tongues for gossip, let us use them as launchpads for the Gospel. Because when our hearts share the Gospel, the Gospel begins to shape our hearts...
