You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Gratitude turns what we have into enough, because it shifts our focus from what’s missing to Who is present. A thankful heart sees God’s hand in both plenty and in pain, and finds peace in His provision. When we practice gratitude, lack loses its grip and contentment takes its place. “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Stop trying to figure it out and start praying to filter it out. You see, the more you talk to the Lord about it, the clearer you become about it. Delighting in Him is what clarifies the desires of our heart. "Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4).
Christ cannot be our present source of peace if we are constantly trying to chase the worlds pace. You see, when the heart stops running, peace begins reigning. "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful" (Colossians 3:15).
The heart of all our countries problems is a problem of the heart. If the heart of man doesn't change, then nothing will change. And only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can do that. "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
The fastest way to lose sight of what God has called you to is to begin caring what others think of you. Fearing man ensnares; but fearing the Lord inspires. "The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe" (Proverbs 29:25).
Christians are to be counter to culture, while at the same time being the character of culture. In other words, salt changes what it touches but is not changed by the touch. Likewise, Christians are to be the godly influence of the world but we are not to be influenced by the ungodly world.
The blessings of God are not for the self-sufficient but for the poor in spirit. You see, to know we are bankrupt without Christ is to make us dependent upon His life. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:3).
On Labor Day weekend, I’ll begin a new teaching series at Landmark Church titled “The Last Revelation: Countdown To The Kingdom.” For the past several months, I’ve been studying, praying, and seeking the Lord in preparation for what He desires to...
So many opportunities and so many pulls. So many to choose from, yet only one way to go. So which way from here? Well, there are so many opinions and so many assumptions, and I even agree with the many deductions. Yet agreeing is not always so freeing. Meaning, you can agree with what others suggest as the way you should go, but that doesn’t set you free from.....
It all points to Jesus. Every failure and success. Every high and low. It was all written for Him and through Him. The rise and the fall of man, for redemption and salvation were always a part of God's foundational plan--"The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (Revelation 13:8). You see, God knew we would require a Savior to be the antidote to our evil behavior. So He sent His Son to be the beginning and the end with no end. The Alpha and the Omega which means He is before, during, and after all things as the Author, Editor, and the Publisher of all things. Even evil? Yes, there is evil in the Bible and God wrote it knowing good always needs a rival. And without evil, there is....
Dear Heavenly Father, "So far today I have done very well. I have not lied, cheated or complained. I have not looked down upon my neighbors nor have I gossiped about others. So far, so good, Heavenly Father, but I know I am going to need Your help for the rest of my day. I am asking You now for that guidance because I’m about to.....
No. It’s not Throwback Thursday-- but I found another blog that I wrote a few years ago from prison that was never used and I thought it was worth the read. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Man, in his physical state, was not created to be locked up. A human should only spend 9 months at the most in captivity, but even then, we are spiritually dead when we are born into this world—due to sin. If we are automatically born into bondage, shouldn’t we then be used to confinement? Not really, because pride.....
