The certainty that we will one day meet the King should shape the way we presently walk on earth. His return is not merely a future event to anticipate, but a present reality that calls us to holiness, faithfulness, and urgency. Those who are ready to meet Christ should live ready to represent Christ. “And so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
The truth is a torch that needs to be held forth. In these days of darkness, the Church ought to be blazing the path of righteousness regardless of any opposition or persecution. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16).
To God, it's not about being religious but being righteous. You see, too many people have a form of godliness but they're not formed by godliness. Such is Christ's righteousness in us and upon us. "'For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:21).
"The cause of God is never in danger: infernal craft is outwitted by infinite wisdom, and Satanic malice held in check by boundless power" (Charles Spurgeon). Translation, God wins! "The Lord catches the wise in their own craftiness, and the counsel of the cunning comes quickly upon them" (Job 5:13).
The stature of God stands behind the person (or people) who abide by the statutes of God. You see, the Lord is looking for a loyal heart to stand behind and set apart. "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him" (2 Chronicles 16:9).
Having a certain faith in the midst of uncertain days always trusts in God's certain ways. In other words, you don't need to know it all when you know the One who holds it all. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1).
It is incompatible to know that God bought you, while still living as if sin owns you. Mind you, in Christ, "you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (I Corinthians 6:20).
I haven’t stopped thinking about a question that came in during the final minutes of Wednesday night’s question-and-answer service. I recognize that many people have sincere and important questions surrounding this subject, so I wanted to reply with a more organized answer. Someone asked, “Why doesn’t Landmark Church have a deliverance ministry?”
So much bad news in this world, yet so many still reject the Good News of Jesus. From the parlor tricks of politics to the mass murders sponsored by ISIS, when will this world see who Christ is? So many people say they’ll pray for those afflicted by tragedy, but that sympathy can be summed up by one recent interviewers theology. A news reporter asked him this question....
As time goes on, my feet follow along. Stepping into blessings simply because Jesus is my confession. God always knew where He would have me go and He knew exactly what He would have me do. You see, influence isn’t a persuasion; it’s actually a conviction. In other words, “a mans gift makes room for him and brings him before great men” (Proverbs 18:16). So it’s not about impressing those audiences but impacting them. So as that rhyme sails out of me, I am actually on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry returning....
For me personally, I am not posting blogs or pictures for popularity, and I am certainly not doing it for visibility. I try not to post unless there is a purpose behind the content. And that purpose is to point people to Jesus. I don’t want anyone to see me or hear me. I only want to be a telescope that helps bring Jesus into clear view through what you may be going through.
