You’ll find two types of blogs here: long-form (Blog) & short-form (Daily Dose).
Faith isn’t proven by getting what we want, but by trusting the Lord even when we don’t. Even when healing delays or the answer is “wait,” grace still holds us. Because sometimes God doesn’t remove the struggle, but He always stays with us in it. “Trophimus I have left in Miletus sick" (2 Timothy 4:20).
Persecution is useful, for it awakens the faithful. "Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the...
Those who think most of heaven will do most for earth. And I am not talking about altruism, I'm talking about evangelism--sharing the Gospel and saving people. Nothing will make us more useful than this, knowing life is but a...
Spiritual apathy is a symptom of biblical illiteracy. And we cannot be enthusiastic about the things of God if we do not know the Word of God. You see, it is in the Word of God where we are thoroughly equipped to do the work of God to..
Our Nation needs more Christians filled with the Gospel, not more churches filled with carnal people. You see, only the love of Christ can cure any ill and heal any soul. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is...
The further a society strays from truth, the more it will hate those who stand for truth. And even when the world is against you in every way, speak the truth anyway. “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you" (John 15:18).
Even if a dry and thirsty desert surrounds you, when with Jesus, you will always have living waters within you. His presence brings sustenance. "O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water" (Psalm 63:1).
Comparative Analysis: Christianity vs. Islam Revelation and Textual Integrity: The Bible vs. The Quran • Muhammad claimed to have received revelations from the angel Gabriel for about 23 years, starting in 609 AD. The result was a sea of contradictions...
The blog heard ‘round the world. No seriously, why can’t I think this way? I mean, why shouldn’t I believe what Jesus Himself has said, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father” (John 14:12). Jesus gives us the authority to believe...
I wrote the piece below when I was inmate #314525E. You see, many people view my life now from the vantage point of, “Isn’t he lucky that so many things have worked out for him.” And so, I want to remind you where this piece was penned—in a dark place, often surrounded by lots of shady people and in the vice-grip of a system that is bent on squeezing the worst out of you. And yet because I understood WHO my God was/is---I NEVER lost hope and determined to deal hope to all those who the Lord placed around me---within prison and now outside of prison. So…as you read this piece, ponder the question of whether you are a dealer or a stealer?
There is so much beauty in vulnerability. Consider the many distressful Psalms in the Bible, penned by King David during moments of fatigue, failure, or frustration. Yet, through the transparency of the hurt comes the clarity of the Healer--and therefore hope and encouragement to all those reading them. Recently, I have had the pleasure of hearing testimonies from some of my students and peers alike. Actually, we were in the middle of breaking down “the Law of His Instrument”, a concept from my book, ‘U MAY B THE ONLY BIBLE SOMEBODY READS’. The “law” states that “surrendering to the grip of grace will hold you up to a higher standard of influence.” Meaning, when we....
“Do you go to medical?” That was a question repeatedly posed to me by a fellow inmate. The intent of the question was to figure out what drug I was taking. You see, in prison, men line up in droves to go to medical with the hopes of having legal drugs dispensed to them for a wide variety of reasons. I explained to this inmate that I wasn’t on any drugs and that I had never been to medical. He then inquired, “Then why do you look so happy all the time? After all, this is prison.” That whole exchange still brings a smile to my face as that question gave me an opportunity to testify about the peace that the Lord had encompassed me with in prison. Many would say...
